We Have All Sinned

The word "sin" means to miss the mark. 

Sin is an very old archery term. 

The archer would pull back his bow and let loose the arrow.  The referee would yell "SIN" if the arrow hit anywhere on the target accept on the bullseye which was considered the only perfect shot. 

You see you can get to heaven on your own IF you live a perfect life and never ever sin. 

However, there is only One who lived a perfect life while here on earth and that One is Jesus Christ. 

He lived the life that you and I could not live and He died on the cross in our place. 

God states the penalty for sin is death.  Jesus took that penalty for us, as we have all sinned and miss the mark of perfection in our life.
